We have extended the application deadline to July 10, 2026. The Fund’s Board of Directors will review the applications in July, and we will notify applicants in August whether their application has been approved for funding. Therefore, please apply for internships and residencies beginning in September 2026.
Internships and study abroad programs that have already taken place cannot be funded retroactively.
Purpose: Short-term international professional experience for high school students with a strong interest in science (conference attendance, summer school, research internship)
To get started, we just need some basic information about you and how we can support you. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible to discuss everything in person—just like Karel would 🙂
Please avoid general terms such as “prestigious,” “unique,” “huge opportunity,” or “I’ve always dreamed of” unless they are explained in more detail. Similarly, phrases like “I’ll gain experience,” “I’ll get to know a new environment,” or “I’ll improve my language skills” are fine, but on their own they’re quite general. It helps if you briefly elaborate on each of these statements—for example: what exactly you’ll be doing, where it will take place, what it will look like in practice, and what benefits it will bring to you (or those around you).
