The Karel Výborný Foundation Fund

A Foundation Fund supporting university and high school students

The foundation fund focuses primarily on short-term study trips abroad for students from the Czech Republic. These stays are intended to support their academic development and enable talented young people to gain their first valuable international experience. Whether it involves participation in a scientific conference, a summer school, or a research stay at a university or research institute, applicants submit a brief proposal describing the location, duration, and purpose of the planned trip. The Foundation Fund subsequently covers the costs associated with the trip for the selected candidates.

Dr. Karel Výborný was an outstanding theoretical physicist at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences who tragically passed away in the mountains in August 2025. Throughout his professional life, he was deeply committed to supporting students and helping them gain valuable international experience. Today, the foundation fund that proudly bears his name continues this mission.
